A Talk-Shop Question

Just for a minute, I want to think beyond writing-a-blog-as-reward-in-itself. Which is the most reliable gauge of a blog's influence:
  1. Number of links to?
  2. Average number of commenters per day?
  3. Number of subscribers (through feedreaders)?
  4. Number of visitors?
  5. Other criteria (for instance, how many mainstream stories are anticipated by blog stories on the same subject)?

2 comments:

  1. I think the number of hits is the best gauge of your popularity.

  2. What Lauren said. I also think that, as much as I tried not to do it but ended up doing it, if that makes any sense, is utilizing certain social networking platforms.
As for links, it's hard to gauge, as I haven't figured that one out yet.
