Deregulation Costs Consumers More and Attracts Unscrupulous Business Interests

Texas's grand experiment to privatize electric utilities is going down in flames like a faulty transformer. In the past month three private electric companies have folded, leaving their consumers to pay "providers of last resort" 3x more than the patrons of public utilities. And you know that last resorts are usually the most expensive resorts. The most recent private provider to go under is also owned by an individual who has an unethical business practice history in the privatized telecommunications market.

What say we run government like business? There's a bright idea.
