At the Closing Bell Liberal Bloggers Meet and Surpass Fundraising Goals

Tennessee's progressive blogging set broke their own fundraising goals 3 times in the span of as many days by the official end of their campaign, the close of business hours (Central Time) today. The "Chip In!" campaign itself had no money or formal organization, but just 19 bloggers who wanted to raise money for Democrats without prompting from the party leadership.  Chip In! started at 8 a.m. on Wednesday, broke two previous goals of $1,000 and $2,000 the same day, and broke its final revised goal of $3,000 this morning.  As of 5:00 p.m. (CST), nearly 100 donors have given $3,640.40 to Chip In! The effectiveness of this online on-the-fly fundraiser was both a test case for future liberal efforts and a demonstration that Tennessee bloggers are serious about leveraging progress in the Democratic Party for the sake of navigating our ship out of red-state backwater.

Despite the end of the campaign, I'm leaving the banner in the right-hand column until it is taken down at ActBlue.  Thanks to all who generously donated!
