Crafton Tells Council Taxpayers on Hook for Convention Center

CM Eric Crafton pulled the Mayor's convention center bill off the consent agenda on first reading tonight in order to debate it. Rarely are bills pulled on first reading. Vice Mayor Diane Neighbors attempted to remind Crafton that the bill would be debated in committee, but he resisted. Council passed on first reading anyway.

UPDATE: Michael Cass tweets that Crafton did not vote against the Mayor's proposal in spite of his objections to it. That's disappointing.
