Bruce Dobie, president of LEAD's board isn't happy about it either. I heard that LEAD is buying property in North Nashville and putting portables up on the land if they have to until they can build a building. Lots of people say it's a great school with a great leader--Jeremy King is his name (I think). I think this is where they want the school but I could be wrong. If there are buildings being used in areas for something other than schools and there are more than enough residents in an area to support a nice size school or there is one closer than 10 miles away please let them know. Rezoning of the district was supposed to have been done this school year. However, it did not make it to the school board agenda because the chair allowed such trival issues as balanced calendar and uniforms to be brought before the board. Maybe next year will be more productive.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10635442.post-73870372632125189382007-04-26T14:36:00.000-05:002007-04-26T14:36:00.000-05:00We moved our family to the neighborhood because we...We moved our family to the neighborhood because we feel it's important for families to invest in the downtown development for the sake of long-term sustainability in the neighborhood. The lack of educational resources is a major drawback for us, and creates a headache for any family with school-age children in this area that families in outlying areas of Nashville don’t have to face. And unless we only want families that can afford to pay for private schools – which would not allow for diversity to remain in the area – a good local school is imperative. Are there any candidates for Metro Council that have education as a priority?audihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13346825453810860531noreply@blogger.com
