"The People Formerly Known As The Audience"

Check out this super piece in the NYT today on how the audience and sources of mainstream media reports are becoming producers of the reports themselves. According to the Times, these developments are forcing journalists to become "more open about their methods and techniques and perhaps more conscious of how they filter information."

If that truly is some of the influence of blogging on the mainstream media, then blogging just might be a good thing.
