MAY 1, 2006--CENTRAL PRECINCT DETECTIVES ARE ASKING FOR THE PUBLIC'S ASSISTANCE AS THEY ATTEMPT TO LOCATE THE RELATIVES OF AN INDONESIAN MAN WHO SUFFERED A FATAL HEAD INJURY DOWNTOWN EARLY SATURDAY. MUHAMMAD FAISAL, 37, WAS IDENTIFIED FROM A GOVERNMENT OF INDONESIA SEAFARER PROFICIENCY CERTIFICATE BEARING HIS PHOTOGRAPH THAT WAS FOUND IN HIS POCKET. A PASSERBY DISCOVERED FAISAL LYING ON THE SIDEWALK AT THE CORNER OF 4TH AVENUE NORTH AND COMMERCE STREET AT 3 A.M. SATURDAY. HE HAD A CRITICAL INJURY TO THE BACK OF HIS HEAD. DETECTIVES ARE UNSURE WHETHER FAISAL FELL AND HIT HIS HEAD OR WHETHER HE WAS STRUCK. THE POLICE DEPARTMENT HAS NOT HEARD FROM ANYONE WHO SAW FAISAL GO DOWN. IN ADDITION TO THE GOVERNMENT CERTIFICATE, HE WAS CARRYING APPROXIMATELY $100. FAISAL WAS RUSHED TO VANDERBILT UNIVERSITY MEDICAL CENTER SATURDAY MORNING. HE DIED TODAY [May 1].
