- In-town Will penalizes Scene's Kreyling for over-melodramatizing Lower Broad.
- Westin Investors purported to bail on smaller hotel.
- Still no word from preservationists on Mike Jameson's dilemma (i.e., a hotel is going to be built on the property, given the zoning: either one with no restrictions or the current set-back proposal that includes historic overlay for Lower Broad; either way the hallowed sight-lines to the river will be obstructed; which do you want: more or less obstruction?).
- The last time preservationists won a similar Downtown fight, Downtown was left with a parking lot on Church Street. Is permanent impermeable parking supposed to be a vindication of historic preservation?

It is important to remember, if you are referring to the property at 2nd and Church, that the parking lot replaced buildings that "suspiciously" burned down when the developer faced delays. I have heard that it was the uproar over this that reinforced the preservation of the rest of 2nd. I do not like that parking lot, but it is a small price to pay for saving the rest of the street.
