Council's Planning Committee Chair Election Scheduled for Just After 6:30

According to tonight's Council Agenda, the significant election of the chair to the Planning, Zoning and Historical Committee occurs as one of the first business items. It will be interesting to see whether rumors are true that Megan Barry will run for this position against Jim Gotto, one of the council conservatives. The Charter requires that the member in that position automatically sits on the very important Planning Commission. Since that is the requirement, I would rather see a reformer like Megan occupying the chair.
