the city would have to find a new funding source for nearly $14 million worth of items, including subsidies for the Nashville Predators, the Adventure Science Center and the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum .... Metro uses those funds to help pay for other tourism-related programs like the Adventure Science Center, the Arts Commission and the Farmers Market. The largest chunk of the hotel/motel tax goes to a $7.4 million subsidy Metro provides the Predators at Sommet Center. A total of $2.8 million goes to the Metro Transit Authority and the Regional Transit Authority.If you are concerned about the quality of any of these services being eroded by cuts to funding be sure and contact your council member and ask them either tp shelter the services or to vote against the convention center proposal.

Farmers Market funding would be casualty to cost of Mayor Dean's new convention center
According to Nate Rau, Mayor Karl Dean would have to divert several tourist-tax-related subsidies from several other services to pay for the Music City Center under his current finance plan:
