Martin Luther King, Jr. discusses love, conscience, and guilt

  1. On Dr. King's birthday, we find out from her blog that African American CM Vivian Wilhoite has crumbled under the pressure of her white, wealthy boss Mrs. Dave Cooley and will vote in favor of the MCC.

One wonders if Wilhoite could have survived in the day of Rosa Parks and Dr. King? These African American leaders were not afraid to stand up for what was right, they were willing to get arrested and even to give their lives. Wilhoite will sell out all of the people of Nashville just to keep her job.

Because of her conflict of interest, she should at least have the courage to abstain from this vote. She has ignored the people of her district and the city to save herself. How does she think anyone would vote for her again for anything else? I hope she doesn't believe that the Cooley think-tank will support her.

Not only does Vivian disappoint the adult citizens of Nashville, but every African American child and little girl who dreamed someday of following in her footsteps.

What if Dr. King and Mrs. Parks had crumbled so easily?
