At Least They Did Not Recommend Trying to Curb Student Mobility with More Opportunities for Student Mobility

While short on solutions to recommend to leaders, this morning's City Paper editorial was remarkably thoughtful about addressing the multi-faceted and complex factors that engender greater student mobility in urban schools and the need for ideas beyond promoting greater gentrification. It was refreshing that they did not fall back on the conservative mantra of fixing mobility by offering more "school choice," itself code for funding private schools and charter schools. More mobility is not the solution.
