Olympic Spirit Jumps the Shark
When the Olympic torch has its own plane and auto fleet spiriting it around the globe, generating a huge carbon footprint ("the four-month torch relay puts twice as much carbon in the atmosphere as you will over the course of your entire life"), I'd say that its days of creating good will are over. The inspiration has expired, and the Olympics have become a farce.
