Tennessee currently prohibits park visitors from carrying loaded and uncased fire arms in its parks. The Bush Interior Department is moving to permit the carrying of loaded, concealed weapons in its National Parks. So, a federal firebreak against Tennessee allowing Natchez Trace or Stones River visitors to carry firearms would be removed if the Bush Administration accomplishes its intentions in an election year.
The prospect of flying lead between disgruntled patrons ought to be enough to encourage families to stay home. It's even making park rangers skittish.
