Might the South’s political structure be up-ended tonight? It will all be sorted out within a few hours. Or maybe not: State election board members say that it may be Friday before we know who won Georgia and that the process may be snarled by continuing long lines and the slog of counting tens of thousands of provisional and absentee ballots.
UPDATE: Chris Kromm reports that paper ballots are being used in some Georgia precincts because of poll and registration problems. That would make for a longer count in a close election and a good chance that many Georgia voters will be disenfranchised.
