Magdeburg Connector Dedication Today at Noon

Competing with Oktoberfest/Germantown Street Festival today is the dedication of the Magdeburg Connector of the Cumberland River Greenway, including a fountain feature that is Carol Ashworth's somewhat literal translation of the old Morgan Park sulphur spring spigots. The connector, which cuts through Morgan Park, is named after Nashville's sister city, Magdeburg, Germany. German officials will attend the dedication.

  1. Really glad to learn of this project. Is there actually sulphur water coming out of the fountain? I'd be surprised, after all we have done to our aquifers in 230 years.

  2. Nope. It's recirculated Metro Water.
