So, This Is the Rough Tough Moose-Hunting Hockey Mom, Huh?

From ABCNews:
[The] campaign manager for Sen. John McCain ... just told Fox News Channel's Chris Wallace that McCain running mate Gov. Sarah Palin won't subject herself to any tough questions from reporters "until the point in time when she'll be treated with respect and deference."
Would Sarah Palin stamp her feet and refuse to meet with Russia until Vlad Putin gave her respect and deference? Ms. Palin should grow up. If she wants to run among the grown-ups who have toughed out a long campaign season to win votes to get them where they are, then she should jump into the fray and let chips fall where they may. Even her counter part, Joe Biden, has put his hide on the line during the process. Why is the McCain campaign shielding her rather than letting her show people that she is tough enough to face difficulty? It's what should be demanded of leaders who could be president one day. They must be trying to hide some fatal flaw or vulnerability from public view.

She may run, but she cannot hide forever. She's leaving a lot of blank space to be filled in by her opposition. At some point, she's going to have to answer for herself.

UPDATE: Palin caves to criticism.

  1. Were you upset when the Democrat Presidential candidates refused to take part in a debate if it was hosted by Fox News? What was the justification for their actions? And how is any different from this?

  2. Heh, this is what happens when a presidential candidate picks a prom queen for a running mate.

If little miss PTA thinks the reporters are bad, wait 'til she has to debate Joe Biden.

    I can here her now...

"sorry I couldn't make the debate. But I broke a nail...."

  3. pathetic. she's about as tough as a cup of jello. and McCain wants the public and the press to pay attention to her to divert from his utter lack of ideas and his support of the current administration. one of the worst campaigns i've seen in many a year.
