I took a picture this morning of the key pad into which my 5-year-old daughter will be expected to enter a PIN to access lunch money that we have prepaid. I hope that the photo makes evident that there is very little security at the "point-of-sale" itself. Keying in the code will be observable from almost any angle; so, in the event that someone else wants to watch our daughter enter the PIN and use it for themselves, the MNPS food service managers are enabling such theft with this open system of entry. To paraphrase someone else's tweet this morning, some software company must have done some sucking up to get such a vulnerable system adopted by the Bransford Avenue set.
