McCain Can't Count His Houses and Palin Doesn't Understand the Mortgage Game

VP candidate Sarah Palin makes her first gaffe, and she's running silent and dark away from the harsh light of media re-directs:
Speaking before voters in Colorado Springs, the Republican vice presidential nominee claimed that lending giants Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac had "gotten too big and too expensive to the taxpayers." The companies, as McClatchy reported, "aren't taxpayer funded but operate as private companies. The takeover may result in a taxpayer bailout during reorganization."
Blimey. It appears that the campaign's shielding from media scrutiny cannot keep Sarah Palin from showing her inability to grasp economic policy. How bad would she perform if she were ever subject to media questions outside of the watchful eyes of handlers and party strategists?

  2. There is a clear and important difference between getting tongue twisted, and talking out of your ass because you're in over your head trying to spout generic rhetoric without regard to accuracy.
