The AP has yet to call Georgia because there are still 100,000 outstanding absentee and early ballots from Atlanta's metro counties of Fulton, Cobb and Gwinett. Not only does this complicate what Georgia does with its 15 electoral votes for president (won't change Obama's President Elect status), but it could force incumbent Republican Senator Saxby Chambliss into a run-off with his Democratic challenger. Either way, if those 100,000 votes lean majority Democrat, it further solidifies the mandate that Barack Obama and the Democratic Party received last night.
UPDATE: The shot had been called.
