Police Enforce Noise Ordinance in Midtown

According to an e-mail I received from a Midtown resident, last Thursday night South Street Restaurant was cited for violating Metro's noise ordinance. Police have had a history of not responding to noise complaints coming the vacinity of South Street and the Bound'ry, which both belong to the same ownership group. Recently e-mail correspondence from the police indicated that they would start enforcing the code.

According to last week's e-mail, police have said that South Street must take responsibility for the disorderly conduct of its patrons in the Midtown neighborhood. That conduct has included public intoxication, shouting, and vomiting on the street in front of the restaurant. Neighbors around the restaurant are encouraging one another to report any obnoxious and illegal activities that occur to police.
