Article on 1957 Nashville Desegregation Includes Photos of North End's Buena Vista School
John Egerton's Tennessean piece has the details of Nashville's response to the judicial directive to desegregate its public schools. Photos attached to the story include one of a black student headed into the front door of Buena Vista School (which is now a Middle Magnet School on 9th Avenue near Garfield Street) and one of white protesters scowling and sneering at black children walking toward the school. They are powerful photos.
