Religion on the Government Dole
The New York Times Business Section has a four-part series this week called "In God's Name," which examines the ways that government accommodates religion. The whole partisan red-meat argument that there is a "war on religion" by the government looks more like a lie when one considers the actual breaks and perks given to organized religion, which enjoys magnanimous exemptions without regulation and activist judicial protections. Who says the government is not attempting to establish religion in America?
