Metro Council Amends Meals-for-Deals Out of the Ethics Bill on First Reading
Council Member Jon Summers introduced an amendment to the controversial Ethics Bill to continue the current ban on meals provided to Metro Council by private groups that are likely to have business with and benefit from council legislation. Council approved the amendment and then approved the bill on first reading. The bill can still be amended on second reading, so we could see meals put right back in before third and final reading by those Council Members who want to be fed by someone else.
