$14 Billion Down a Black Hole Never to Be Seen Again

If Tennessee's "tax revolters" truly care about staunching the flow of tax dollars to useless government endeavors, maybe they'll be tuned in next week with many of the rest of us who will be watching PBS's "Gangs of Iraq." I'll be interested to see how private contractors are sucking up government dollars to train armed militia men as well as so-called Iraq national security forces. Journalist Martin Smith who documented "Gangs of Iraq" reports that the Bush Administration has spent $14 billion on this fool's errand.

$14 billion. How many domestic programs could that have funded?

  1. Could be worse. The $14B could gave been flushed down the black hole of the welfare state where in addition to wasting money it would have caused actual harm to our society by encouraging slothfulness.
