LP (Louisiana Pacific) Update

Last month I offered the opinion that rather than promoting a false dicotomy between protecting the environment and providing jobs in Manitoba, Louisiana Pacific ought to give up its expensive naming rights to Tennessee Titans' LP Field.

Canada.com is reporting that Manitoba's Clean Environment Commission is reviewing LP's request to decommission its process for burning off pollutants that would otherwise be released from its plant. The Commission will make a recommendation to the governing minister about LP's request. There is no timeline for the recommendation.

In unrelated news, LP ended a shutdown of a Texas plant, and workers returned from lay offs. Again, with such financial conditions, how can LP possibly afford luxuries like naming rights to a pro football stadium in Nashville, TN?
