Progressive Bloggers Reach for a Chair at the Party Table Where the Pie Gets Cut

19 progressive Tennessee bloggers put their differences aside Wednesday morning at 8:00 and set a goal of raising $1,000 by today for the state Democratic Party without any prompting, assistance, or sanction from the party itself. When donors put us past $1,000 in a few hours, we reset the goal at $2,000.  When we blew past $2,000 a few hours later we upped the ante to $3,000. At this morning's deadline we have ecclipsed our money goal with $3,265 ready to donate to TNDEM, more than tripling our original goal.

While our original mission to attract a high number of small donations seems to be realized by the fact that our average donation is under $30, we did not quite meet our goal of attracting 100 donors. So, before we make the donation, we call upon 21 more donors to give whatever they can to help us hit 100 on the donor meter.  If you can contribute $1, $5, $10, $15 or whatever to help us see Chip In through to 100 donors, you would be helping us claim a spot for liberals at the table when party decisions get made. Just click on the ActBlue thermometer banner in the righthand column to contribute.

Here is the list of participating bloggers who devoted time, energy and money to this fundraising effort:

• Vibinc
• Enclave

UPDATE: Totes now up to 80 donors giving $3,315.
