As Strategically Effective As an Editorial or a Memorializing Resolution

Symbolic statements are being made against Eric "English Only" Crafton's ballot initiative. But they are as likely to mobilize his us-v.-them supporters as they are to GOTV against it; I can see Crafton's signers laughing at the county Democratic execs request that they remove their names from the petition. Unless the Democrats are making themselves useful by organizing block-by-block to GOTV or finding money to throw into the fight, their paper opposition won't amount to much, and it may serve as fodder to mobilize the opposition.

You have got to come with more than words if you want to win this. You've got to come with mobilized numbers and money. That's what Crafton's got. That's why he's going to win. And the Democratic Party will have let us down once again.
