we've been there and done that -- and we didn't like it. Dade County, as it was then known, enacted an English-only ordinance in 1980. It quickly became a source of endless legal headaches, heated community debate, political embarrassment and bureaucratic wrangling. Finally, it was repealed in 1993, to near-universal relief.Let's hope a majority of those expected 50,000 voters who show up tomorrow heed Miami's warning and save us the trouble of paying for Eric Crafton's obsession for the next decade in Nashville.
