Announcements of Germantown Historic Zoning Hearing in Today's Snail Mail

I had been wondering if at least some of us in Salemtown would be getting notices of Public Hearings for Historic Germantown's request for Historic Zoning, given that the overlay if approved would be contiguous with the southern end of Salemtown. Sure enough when I came home for lunch this afternoon, I found the announcements of the Planning Commission's and of Metro Council's Public Hearings in my mailbox.

Here are the vitals:

Metro Planning Commission Public Hearing
Thursday, December 13, 2007 at 4:00 p.m.
Green Hills Conference Room
"Metro Southeast" Building
1417 Murfreesboro Pike
(The announcement also notes that the request may be put on the consent agenda, which means it would be considered at the first of the meeting with no debate unless anyone requests that the item be removed from that agenda)

Metro Council Public Hearing on BL2007-19 (sponsored by Erica Gilmore for various owners)
Tuesday, January 8, 2008 at 6:00 p.m.
Metropolitan Courthouse
1 Public Square
(The Planning Commission will have made its recommendation to the Council on Dec. 13, and the Council will eventually make the final decision to approve or to disapprove)

BL2007-19 is up for first reading at tonight's meeting, and it will be interesting to see whether it stays on the consent agenda or gets pulled off for debate or Ms. Gilmore's deferral. She has already deferred the bill once in order to have a community meeting that Salemtown did not seem invited to.

UPDATE: after the jump.
