Besides a tenuous-to-the-point-of-irrelevant Lawson connection between Murfreesboro's recent failure and Bells Bend, we haven't heard as much rah-rah for May Town Center this week coming from the City Paper. But an editorial in this morning's edition looks like a weekly editors' effort to to run regular promotions for Tony G.'s bid to sprawl on the Bend. This week the CP kids are lecturing Nashville about its ignorance of economic development, and arguing that Nashville's leadership and its "stakeholders" should "endeavor to answer these kinds of questions better." "Better" like a certain opponent of the MTC on the Metro Council recently did?
I'm not criticizing the idea of encouraging a thorough discussion and comprehension of Nashville's economic development; I'm just rejecting the City Paper's biased attempts to use the idea to advance its mission to promote the May Town Center plan and to kill the Bells Bend neighborhood plan proposed by an overwhelming majority of Scottsboro/Bells Bend residents.
