Evil Empire Outslugs Red Sox Nation in Campaign Contributions
The NY Yankees may be currently chasing the BoSox in the race for the AL East pennant this year, but since 1999 the Bronx Bombers are destroying the Red Legs in campaign contributions, $619,408-$56,350. There is a Tennessee connection: the Red Sox President made a $2,100 contribution in 2006 to the Harold Ford for Senate campaign.

Even though a lot of that Yankee money is going to the GOP, I'm proud to root for an organization that shows the commitment to civic awareness and to the world beyond baseball.
