Council Resolution To Extend Greenway through North End from Metro Center to Jefferson Street
Resolution RS2007-1770, which is up for a single vote on Tuesday, would approve a $1.3 million federal "pass-through" grant from TDOT to Metro Parks for extending the Cumberland River Greenway through the North End. The grant would pay for a 1.5 mile paved path from the Metro Center trailhead on the north (I-65) to the Downtown Greenway Plaza south of Jeff Street on the south. The project includes trailhead signage, landscaping, and greenway amenities. It requires a local match of a little over $325,000 through bond funds allocated for the construction of Greenways. This is one of those rare instances when I can say that I whole-heartedly and enthusiastically support a Ludye Wallace-co-sponsored bill. He's actually doing something beneficial for us this time.

As long as the signage is in 'English only' I'll support this.
ReplyDeleteMad props to Ludye. I'm glad that he could interrupt his ever-so-important constituent visits to co-propose this bill.
Any news on the trailhead to Morgan Park?
