Police Response
Metro Police Central Precinct has a new commander who got an earful of criticism at last night's Salemtown Neighbors meeting about recent police response to incidents and follow-up in Salemtown. Community policing here seems to have slipped lately as cops seemed to sit back and do nothing on incidents of public brawling and gang activity, and we've gotten mixed messages on whom to contact to report suspicious activity in the past. MNPD used to be one of the strongest Metro services in our neighborhood, but it seems to have become anemic.
