Each of the 5 candidates running for the District 19 Metro Council seat has indicated that they intend to participate in a Neighborhood Forum co-sponsored by Historic Germantown, Inc. and Salemtown Neighbors Neighborhood Association. The Forum will be held at the Assumption School at Germantown's Assumption Catholic Church (7th Av N and Monroe St) on Tuesday, July 10 at 6:30 p.m. The building in the picture at the left is the Assumption School, which sits right next to Assumption's cathedral building.
The field of candidates includes Janis Davis, Erica Gilmore, Keith Pitts, Freda Player, and David Shaw. Ms. Davis, Ms. Gilmore, and Mr. Pitts each told me today that they definitely intend to attend. The Forum will be a great opportunity for G-town and S-town residents to learn more about the candidates and to see how they distinguish themselves from each other in a head-to-head exchange of ideas.
